The Greater Together New Media Team have congratulated Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi on his appointment as Minister of Transportation by President Muhammadu Buhari.

In a statement issued in Port Harcourt by Hon Ken Minimah, the group said: “we heartily congratulate our leader and pathfinder on his well deserved appointment as Minister of Transportation in this trying period of our national life. We have absolutely no doubt that you will bring your characteristic touch of excellence to bear on the enormous task you have been giving, and with the same work ethic, commitment and dedication that signposted your incredible performance as Governor of Rivers State, bring joy and relief to the Nigerian people and make the Transportation Ministry a sector with which the Nigerian people will be proud”. The group also commended the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Muhammadu Buhari for finding Rt. Hon Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi worthy to serve in a colossally strategic ministry in his administration and expressed the optimism that he will find his Minister of Transport a trusted, capable and dependable lieutenant in his cabinet. Drawing Amaechi’s attention to the deplorable state of the Port Harcourt International Airport which has been rated as the worst airport in the world, the group urged him to immediately roll up his sleeves and get to work with a view to rolling away the reproach which the airport has come to represent to the people of Niger Delta and to Nigerians at large. “It is unacceptable that an infrastructure as the Port Harcourt International Airport that was supposed to be a thing of pride to our people is turning into a reproach. That must be immediately arrested and the infrastructure restored to its place of pride.” “We are confident in your ability to perform and discharge your responsibilities with vigor and purposefulness. We are hopeful that working closely with Mr President, you will admirably transform the transport sector of the economy into a modern system for the benefit of Nigerians. You cannot fail now because you have never failed before”. The group appealed to all Nigerians and Rivers people in particular to give the Hon Minister of Transportation all the support, prayers and cooperation he needs to succeed in his new assignment in order to deliver the needed change which the APC promised for the benefit of all.
