Tanzanian Earthquake Kills At Least 10, Injures 192

A magnitude 5.7 earthquake on the Uganda and Rwandan border, found along the Great Rift Valley fault line. Early reports from the BBC and other news outlets say that there are 10 recorded deaths and at least 192 injuries.

The worst reported damage is to the northwestern city of Bukoba, sitting on Lake Victoria, and has a population of 70,000 people. According to the BBC, local hospitals are full and cannot cope with the number of injured. Buildings have collapsed and people are still trapped underneath the rubble.”

The last recorded earthquake in Tanzania was in the town of Arusha in 2007.
