Swansea 1-2: Liverpool: Milner penalty continues Reds’ winning run

by nadum 2 Oct , 2016

Liverpool came from behind to make it four Premier League wins in a row to pile further pressure on Francesco Guidolin with a 2-1 win over Swansea at the Liberty Stadium.

The hosts went ahead through Leroy Fer after just eight minutes from a left-wing corner swung in by Gylfi Sigurdsson. Borja headed the ball down to Van der Hoorn who tried to place it past Karuis with Fer making sure the ball crossed the line.

After not managing a shot on target in the first half, the Reds came out after half-time looking re-energised and were back on level terms within 10 minutes.  Coutinho’s free-kick was not cleared allowing Henderson to lob the ball back into the box to Firmino to head home.

The visitors continued to press for a winner and were rewarded late on when Angel Rangel brought down FIrmino in the box for a penalty. Up stepped James Milner to convert the spot kick and seal victory for the Reds.
