Seven people have been killed in a suicide attack at Umarari village in Molai general area of Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.
The dead include a mother and her two children, as well as a member of the Civilian Joint Task Force (JTF).
The three suicide bombers were sighted by a member of the Civilian JTF who challenged them.
According to the Police Spokesman in Borno State, Mr Victor Isuku, the suicide bombers, a male and two teenage females, detonated the Improvised Explosive Devices strapped to their bodies running in different directions.
The Northeast Information Officer of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Abdulkadir Ibrahim, said the injured have been taken to the State Specialist Hospital for treatment.
This is the second time in one week that suicide bombers are attempting to enter Maiduguri through Umarari village.
