Rwandan President Fires Back At Critics

by nadum 27 Dec , 2015

Rwandan President Paul Kagame has fired back against critics of his decision to hold a referendum which would allow him to run for a third term in 2017, according to the East African newspaper.

“For foreign critics, they can continue being unhappy with what Rwandans chose to do. We have the right to choose how we live as a nation, society and individuals,” President Kagame said at the National Dialogue Council, locally known as Umushyikirano.

The Rwandan President also noted that the threat of Western sanctions would not cause him to change course.

“We have to live our lives in spite of what they do,” he said.
