Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has suspended the state’s Commissioner for Works, Mr. Kevin Wachukwu. Though no reason was given for the governor’s action, a statement from government house, and signed by Simeon Nwakaudu, Special Assistant to the Rivers State Governor on Electronic Media, said the suspension was with immediate effect.
Meanwhile, the Governor’s aide on Special Projects has been asked to take over the responsibility of supervising projects in the Ministry of Works in the meantime.
The statement reads: “Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, has suspended the State Commissioner for Works, Mr. Kevin Wachukwu.
“The governor directed that the Special Adviser on Special Projects should take over the responsibility of supervising projects in the Ministry in the meantime.”
