An insight from a reliable source within the government house in PH.
The sudden removal of the Chief Security Officer of Rivers Governor may not be unconnected to the arms scandal rocking the Government House.
Last week we reported that there was a fight between security agencies attached to the Governor and those assigned to supervise the alleged arms recovery from the phantom 22,000 cultists who surrendered their weapons.
Informed sources say that the arms which were televised on some national television states may have disappeared from the armoury without any cogent reasons.
A break down of the weapons showed 911 assorted arms, 7661 assorted ammunition and147 explosives, 6 GPMGs, 70 AK-47 riffles, 44 pump actions, 16 G3 riffles and 5K2 riffles, 443 locally made single barrel guns, 46 locally made double barrel guns, 266 locally made pistols among others.
But sources in Government House say that the CSO, Inspector Promise has not been able to report the actual whereabouts of the entire arms.
There were allegations and counter allegations forcing him to be recalled through a text message.
Many more heads are expected to roll over the scandal which has attracted both national and international community. More details loading….
