Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has described himself as a peace maker and not a trouble maker.
The Governor said this in response to criticisms over his recent allegations against various agencies, ahead of the Rivers rerun elections.
The Governor during the flag-off of the renovation of the general hospital in Abua-Odual local government area of the state, accused the opposition All Progressives Congress, APC, of brewing crisis in the state by allegedly conniving with federal institutions to rig elections.
The governor equally took a swipe at the Inspector General of Police for allegedly holding a meeting with the opposition political party with an agenda to rig the December 10 legislative rerun.
He charged the youths to protect their votes, stressing that no one should be intimidated by the actions of the olice and other security agencies.
“Can you all see the fraud this APC people are applying. After, they will say Wike is all about trouble. Which trouble are my making, I am a peace maker. You all know me to be a peaceful man.
“You people have to be vigilant because we have heard that they had a meeting recently with the Inspector General of Police.
“We have a credible information that they want to deploy three Police Commissioners for ordinary re-run election then later they will say the election will be free and fair, how will that kind of election be free and fair.
“What I am telling you is that all youths must be vigilant. You all must be agile MOPOLs on that election day. You must occupy polling unit by polling unit.
“Do not allow anybody intimidate you with arrest. An unemployed youth who has no job and has no food to eat is already dead, so why must you fear death now.”
