It appears there is yet no end in sight for the avalanche of decampees moving from various political parties into the fold of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State since the Court of Appeal gave verdicts on the various federal and state parliamentary election tribunal cases.Barrister Owakwe Awuse, younger brother to PDP stalwart and strong ally of Governor Nyesom Wike, Chief sergent Awuse on Sunday dumped his former party, leading 380 supporters of the PDP to the APC. In an elaborate ceremony which took place at Rumuche community of Emohua Local Government Area, the decampees were received by the running mate of the APC gubernatorial candidate, Hon Asita Honourable. Other dignitaries who were on ground to help in the political harvest include the state chairman of the APC, Chief Davis Ikanya and Chief Andrew Uchendu who is the APC senatorial candidate for Rivers East Senatorial district.
In a similar development, Ambassador Marvin Yobana, former African Representative in the World Youth Forum today dumped the Peoples Democratic Party and embraced the APC. Ambassador Yobana is a successful youth leader who was former leader of Ogoni Youth Council and former South-South Vice President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria. He was a strong supporter of former president Goodluck Jonathan and Governor Nyesom Wike was very critical of former governor Chibuike Amaechi and the APC, especially in the build up to the 2015 general election.
