The Brazilian is determined to extend his stay at Stamford Bridge, though will accept a move to a different English side if the Blues deem him surplus to requirements.
Alexandre Pato’s agent has revealed that his client has taken to life in London in a big way and is desperate to make his stay at Chelsea a permanent one.
The on-loan Corinthians attacker scored and racked up an assist on his Blues debut against Aston Villa and has settled well into his new surroundings, according to representative Kia Joorabchian.
If the Stamford Bridge side decide not to hold on to the 26-year-old, however, his preference would be to stay in the Premier League.
“He wanted to come to Chelsea, that was his first choice,” Joorabchian told Goal. “He loves the Premier League and wants to stay here if Chelsea want to keep him.
“He’ll speak with the club at the end of the season – there is a new manager coming in and we will have to have a conversation [about a permanent transfer].
“I think a lot of things will change between now and the end of the season. He was very successful in his first Premier League match and he needs to continue to impress.”
With Diego Costa suspended and Loic Remy injured, Pato has only to compete with young forward Bertrand Traore for a starting berth in the short term.
Should a prolonged stay at Chelsea be out of the question, Pato’s preference would be to sign for a different London club, while signing for a top-flight club outside of London would be the Brazilian’s third choice.
