Police, Military Clash leaves Four Dead In Yobe

Clashes between the military and the police in Damaturu, the Yobe state capital has left at least three people dead.

Although the cause of the clash is not yet known, Channels Television’s correspondent noted that the town has been thrown into confusion.

 

Financial institutions, government establishments and people who opened their places of businesses were force to close early because of the upheaval.

The State Commissioner for Police, Mr Sumonu Andulmaliki, who confirmed the incident said men in military uniform have abducted the Squadron commander of Mopol 41. Damaturu CSP, Dauda Fika.

Meanwhile, the military spokesman in the state Colonel Kayode Ogunsoya, in a statement said a committee has been set up to end the clash.
