There seems to be conflicting reports over the arrest of the Former Governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido.

Reports say Mr Lamido was arrested for allegedly inciting his supporters to  cause mayhem during the Local Government Election scheduled for July 1.

While eyewitnesses claim that he was arrested by the police and whisked away from his Sharada residence in Kano State, the Force Public Relations Officer, Jimoh Moshood, told Channels Television that he responded to the invite of the police.

Latest reports, however, confirm that the former governor, is still  in custody of police.

Mr Lamido was Governor of Jigawa State between 1999 and 2003.
