GOVERNOR Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State, yesterday, carpeted the five South-South governors of Peoples Democratic Party,  PDP, who said they will take over Edo State in the September 10, governorship election in the state, adding that he would defeat the Delta State governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, or any of the governors in their respective states if he ran election against them.

He also  blamed the differences in the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state on some fifth columnists who left the opposition PDP but do not wish the APC well. Oshiomhole spoke when members of the Peace Committee set up by the national leadership of  APC, led by former governor of Osun State, Prince Olagusoye Oyinlola, paid him a courtesy visit.

The committee is in the state to look into the crisis in the state APC. Oshiomhole, who said that the PDP governors in the South-South were wallowing in their dreams, added:  “Last week,  I read in the media that PDP governors in the South South met in Asaba and said that they were strategising on how to win Edo.

I looked at those who were talking, if I contest election in Delta State, I will defeat Okowa. If he tries it and we amend the law, I will contest election in Delta State and I will defeat Okowa.

“My pedigree speaks for me.

I am not a radio-manufactured or newspaper-created activist, I can communicate vertically and horizontally. They are lucky but we are waiting for them.”
