Ortom’s Aide, Benue PDP Secretary Resign, Set To Join APC

The special adviser to Benue state Governor Samuel Ortom on rural development, Mr. Tsenongo Abancha has resigned his appointment as member of the state executive council.

This came just as the state secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, Mr. Bem Dzoho has dumped the opposition party to join the governing All Progressives Congress (APC).

Date of his defection at the time of filing this report was yet to be announced.

Also, the resignation of Abancha, Ortom’s aide had come, week ago, when the governor and members of the state Executive council (SEC) ordered the embattled Special adviser to resign his membership of the council or risk being sacked over allegation of looted funds.

This was sequel to the presentation of the white paper by the Justice Elizabeth Kpojime Judicial Commission of Inquiry which announced the names of ex-government officials, including Abancha to refund alleged stolen state funds amounting to N107 billion.

However, it was reliably gathered that the PDP secretary Dzoho has resigned his position in order to enable his planned official decamping into the APC.

Yesterday, at the Banquet hall of the People’s House, Dzoho (dressed in white caftan) had arrived the place for a meeting with the governor. The meeting with governor, it was gathered was not unconnected to the fix in date and final arrangement for the formal defection of the PDP bigwig.
