Ikorodu United players sustained injuries today when the team bus was involved in an accident around Enugu.

The team was heading to Makurdi for their Nigeria Premier League clash against Lobi Stars when the accident occurred.

The club, however, said the injuries were minor.

“We give glory to God for His Mercy in our lives. The players sustained minor injuries,” it said in a tweet.

According to the club, the accident occurred around 4pm. Images tweeted by the team showed the 18-seater bus with its windscreen smashed and a truck with which it crashed overturned by the side.

The club, however, expressed optimism that the players would be ready for Sunday’s game.
