Rt. Hon. Leyii Kwanee, former Deputy Speaker of Rivers State House of Assembly, Friday, slammed a former colleague and sacked Commissioner under the Nyesom Wike led Rivers State Government, Mr.Johny Bazia, an Ogoni politician from Tai LGA
Johny Bazia who had invaded the floor of the Assembly early morning, came with endorsement forms on behalf of the incumbent Governor of Rivers State, Chief Nyesom Wike, who has an eye on the plum job of Governor (2nd term) come 2019.
Leyii Kwanee, an APC Leader, who came to Assembly Complex same morning, leading other colleagues, was so annoyed, seeing Johny Bazia approaching him in that mournful scenario, to plead with his other allies to endorse Wike, contrary to what Leyii came with his colleagues to fulfill at the hallowed chambers.
The obviously downcast Johny Bazia left in utter shame, as he made his way back to Government House with other former Legislators of the older generation who are easy -going
Leyii Kwanee and his team of the 7th Assembly remained on the floor of the Chambers to do a necessity- last honor to a fallen colleague, Late Hon. Andrew Anderson Miller of Opobo/Nkoro, which corpse laid on the floor of the House.
Hon. Kwanee later addressed the Press, expressing shock first, for the omission of his name on the recognition list on the floor and wondered why the Speaker of Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Ikunyi Igbani would be that reckless and dictatorial by twisting the established procedures akin to the House.
Kwanee particularly slammed the Hon. Speaker for acting dictatorially because he (Kwanee) and allies did turn down the overtures of PDP to endorse their Governor on a day Lawmakers are mourning.
7th Assembly Members later paid a condolence visit to the family of late Mayor of PortHarcourt, Chief Nnamdi Wokekoro in Ogbunabali town
