The German manager shepherded his players over to the club’s famous Kop end and had them link hands and salute the fans, saying they made the draw “feel like three points”.
Jurgen Klopp brought a little bit of the Bundesliga to Merseyside on Sunday, instructing his Liverpool players to salute the Kop end, mimicking how Borussia Dortmund pay tribute to Signal Iduna Park’s famous Wall.

It is a long-standing tradition in Germany to walk over to the home end, arms interlocked, to thank the fans for their support – though Liverpool’s players looked a little sheepish doing it after only mustering a draw against West Brom.

Klopp had called on the home fans to create a special atmosphere on Sunday afternoon, and clearly felt they’d delivered on his request.

“The crowd didn’t let us feel disappointed,” the German coach explained afterwards. “We all wanted the one point, it felt like three at that second. Best atmosphere so far.”
