Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State  has sacked the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Engr. Rabiu Sulaiman Bichi. In his place, Ganduje has appointed  Mr.  Usman Alhaji Usman. The former SSG is  an ally of immediate past governor of the state,  Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, and very influential in his administration.

Ganduje has also approved the appointment of Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed Kankarofi as his  Principal Private Secretary. He replaced Alhaji Usman Bala, who has been redeployed  to the  Ministry of Health as Permanent Secretary.

Also appointed as Permanent Secretary is Alhaji Halilu Dantiye, formerly Director -General (Media and Communication) .Dantiye, who has moved to the Ministry of Commerce, has been and replaced  with  Salihu Tanko Yakasai. ‎ There are speculations that the  Accountant-General of the state,  Dr. Danjuma Mahmoud,  inherited from the  Kwankwaso administration, may be sacked  within  a few days over suspicions that he has been  sabotaging the current administration.
