Kanye West’s bored, thousand-yard glare has been mocked and teased and GIFed by practically everyone, but now an entirely unexpected new taunter has emerged: Goodwill. Yep, as in the charitable organization… turns out, those peeps are sassy as hell.
An internal newsletter from the company’s Illinois division used a pic of Kanye West’s expressionless mug to demonstrate how employees should NOT react to workplace situation
s. “Do you suffer from Resting Kanye Face?” the headline asks, adding underneath, “Those who do, may not be seen by others as ‘approachable.’”
And to think…‘Ye’s home state was behind this. SMH.
Apparently, Goodwill’s attempt at spicing up their newsletter with a ~hip~ pop culture reference didn’t go over too agreeably.
After fielding complaints about the page, the division pulled the newsletters from stores and donation centers, and even issued a formal apology to ‘Ye.
“We’d like to apologize to Kanye West, his fans and the community for the use of his image to illustrate an internal training message,” the apology read, according to TMZ.
“It was unacceptable and Goodwill takes full responsibility for this action and meant no disrespect to Kanye.”
We’re going to go out on a limb and assume Kanye wasn’t losing sleep over this half-assed attempt at mockery, but at least now he can rest easy, knowing the big wigs at Goodwill aren’t tarnishing his name.
That is, if he’s actually getting any rest at all… newborns are tough, man.
