The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), has stated that the federal government of Nigeria has no plan to increase the price of fuel.

Kano State’s IPMAN chairman, Alhaji Bashir Danmalam, who stated this at a press briefing in Kano, said from the meeting it held with federal government officials, it was clear there are no plans to hike fuel price.

Danmalam said during the meeting, it was unanimously agreed that the present fuel price will be maintained adding that the Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, who chaired the meeting together with the Minister of Finance had also advised the association to resolve their impending payment issues with the Petroleum Equalization Fund (PEF) amicably.

The chairman said it is disheartening to read some stories of intended fuel price increase, aimed at frightening citizens.

Danmalam called on its members to be law-abiding and patient especially on the issue of non-payment of transportations dues.
