THE residence of the former Vice President Atiku Abubakar was weekend allegedly turned into a boxing ring as two top chieftains of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, engaged in fisticuffs. In the centre of the scuffle were the Chief of Staff to Government House, Yola, Alhaji Abdurrahman Abba, and the Chairman of the Yola North Local Government chapter of the party, Alhaji Salihu Ahmed.
Eyewitness account claimed that a group of party loyalists had converged at the residence of the former Vice President to discuss issues of common interest. According to the source, midway into the meeting, an argument erupted between the Chief of Staff and the APC local chairman, and within the twinkle of an eye, they were at each other’s jugular.

According to the source, the quick intervention of security operatives saved the situation from degenerating into a full blown fight as supporters of the Chief of Staff and the APC Chairman flexed muscles outside the building itching for a showdown.
