The Rivers State Police Command is yet to react to the killing of no fewer than 19 persons by suspected cultists at Aluu community in Ikwerre local government area and Obite community in Etche local government area of the state.
Also, the Nigerian Navy has not reacted to the death of a Naval officer, who was among the 17 people killed by the rampaging suspected cultists at Aluu community.
While 17 persons were killed in Aluu community on Friday night, by the gunmen, who rode on motorcycles, two persons were hacked to death in the early of Saturday at Obite community.
Spokespersons of both the Rivers State Police Command and the Nigerian Navy Shipyard (NNS Pathfinder) have not responded to text messages sent to them since Saturday evening.
Meanwhile, Aluu community in Ikwerre local government area of the state, has confirmed the killing of 17 people in the community by unknown gunmen on Friday night.
The confirmation of the killings by the community is contrary to the claim by the caretaker chairman of Ikwerre local government area of the state, Mr. Samuel Wanosike, who stated that the reports about the incident were not correct.
Spokesman of Aluu community, Garshon Benson, who confirmed the attack in a chat with newsmen in Port Harcourt yesterday, said the gunmen carried out serial killings in six villages that make up the Aluu community.
Benson stated that most of those killed were innocent people who were returning from their places of business.
